Designate a place where all the things you may need or want someday will go. This can include float repair kits, super glue, the dowel for the picnic table (in case you ever want to remove the umbrella and plug the hole), extra buttons, fuses and bulbs for the christmas lights, furniture wrenches, anything!
It can be a drawer, or a box, or a basket. Choose your spot and put all the miscellaneous things in this place. When you are looking for something, check there first. Once you start doing it, it not only gives you the perfect place to put these random things, but it also makes it easy to find them when you need them.
