We were proud to be part of a great event at the Hollywood Art Studio today. Jake Short from Disney's ANT FARM who plays an artist on the show came out to work with the kids from Coach ART. Julio guided them through an amazing DAVID PARK portrait project and the results were amazing! Everyone had a great time!
Our kids are always up for a challenge! ArtWorks students have created paintings for a city-wide poster competition in celebration of African American History Month. Students were asked to choose an important African American inventor as their subject (with inventions ranging from the traffic light to 3-D glasses). Our competitors will find out if their work has been chosen in a few weeks - so until then keep your fingers crossed!
After the rain
We will be offering new workshops with Adele that will guide you through a lesson and at the end of the 2 hour session, you will have a finished painting. She will guide you through techniques and inspire you to create an amazing piece of art. The projects will vary and may included painting, sculpture, and mixed media.
We will offer them monthly - the first one is in conjunction with our Valentine Making party on February 8th! The next one will be March 21st! Fun to do with a group of friends, a girls night out, to celebrate a birthday! All the fun of ART CLASS without committing to an ongoing series of classes!

Hello,
My name is Jordan Hopp. I am a seventh grade student at Horace Mann School. I also attend Temple Isaiah Religious School, and will be having my Bar Mitzvah on May 12, 2012. In preparation for my Bar Mitzvah, I am doing a “mitzvah project” in which I’m attempting to give back by doing good deeds. Since I was very young, I have had a true passion for art, and for this reason, I wanted to incorporate art into my mitzvah project in some way.
I recently learned of the Artists Program at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. This program provides art, music, writing, and dance therapy to children who are often in the hospital for long periods of time. These programs help these children feel like kids while they are going through a very hard time.
Since I cannot work directly with the kids because of my young age, I will be helping the program indirectly by doing a donation drive for art supplies. The Artists Program does not receive any money from the hospital itself and is run only on donations and by volunteers.
My goal is to collect as many art supplies as possible for this wonderful program, and to help put a smile on these children’s faces.

Art Works partnered with Hudson Jeans and One Voice to do an art project with 120 kids who were ages 3-5. We did a picasso portrait using oil pastels, and watercolor. The kids were so proud of their work and we wrapped them up so that they could gift them to their caregivers for the holidays!
It was an amazing day and we were so happy to be a part of it! Thank you to Mary Kumble for inviting us to participate and thank you to all the kids! Happy holidays!!
